How do I verify my District of Columbia licensure status?

No-cost Options: You can verify the status of a license and registration at no cost through the Online License Verification Service on this site or by calling (202) 724-4900.

Written Verification: You can request a written verification that states whether an individual is licensed and currently registered only. Verifications must be requested in writing. Be sure to include the licensee's name, profession, license number, date of birth, and the address to which the verification should be mailed. There is a $26 fee for each verification; the check or money order should be made payable to the DC Treasurer.

Before requesting a written verification, be sure to determine exactly which type is needed by the party to whom the information will be sent. Mail your request for written verifications along with the required fee to:
